A family print shop in Millington

Toys for play.
Parts that solve problems.

We’re Three Little Spools, a small family-run 3D printing business in Millington.

We make toys, useful 3D parts, replacements, and rapid prototypes. It’s a wide mix, and that’s exactly what we love about it.

Based in Millington, TN — serving Millington and the greater Memphis area.
Our story

Three kids. Three spools. One family shop.

Three Little Spools is named for the three kids at the heart of our family business. Each spool is a nod to the filament behind every print — and to one of the young makers who helps keep our ideas moving.

Our three kids are part of the business, too. They help at the workbench, test the toys, and inspire what we make — from playful prints to practical parts, replacements, and rapid prototypes here in Millington, Tennessee, just outside Memphis.

Help make it. Test it. Inspire the next one.Placeholder caption for a future family workbench photo
What comes off our printers

A little bit of play. A whole lot of problem-solving.

We don’t stick to one lane. If it makes somebody smile, fixes an everyday annoyance, or helps an idea move forward, we’re interested.

01

Custom 3D printed toys

Articulated creatures, fidgets, desk buddies, and custom toys for Millington families, with room here for real play-test photos later.

02

Useful 3D parts

Brackets, organizers, holders, adapters, and one-off pieces made to solve a real problem around the house or shop.

03

3D printed replacement parts

Bring us the worn or broken piece. We’ll take a careful look and see whether a printed replacement can give it a second life.

04

Rapid prototyping for Memphis-area makers

We turn a print-ready model into a testable part, then learn from the fit and make the next version better.

Your neighborhood print shop, just up the road.

If you’re looking for 3D printing in Millington, TN — or comparing 3D printing around Memphis — come talk to a real family instead of feeding a mystery form. We like seeing the broken part, hearing what went wrong, and working out what might actually help.

From the workbench

A few notes from this side of the printer.

No polished press releases here — just the kind of quick updates we’d share with a neighbor who stopped by the shop.

One more hinge test

This space is ready for a quick, honest note about how a moving toy held up when we have a real test to share.

The odd little parts

This is where we’ll share the story behind a useful clip, knob, or replacement part once it comes off our bench.

Color talk

A future note can capture a real family color debate here. Until then, this sample copy keeps the spot clearly marked.

Prototyping & Quotes

Good prototypes rarely arrive perfect on the first try. Send over the model, tell us what the part needs to do, and we’ll work through the print, fit, and next version together.

How it works

Let’s make the first version — then learn from it.

Whether it’s a bracket for a robot, an enclosure for electronics, or a brand-new idea you want to hold and test, rapid prototyping is about experimenting without waiting forever.

Common print-ready formats are STL, STEP, and OBJ. If you’re not sure whether your file is ready, send what you have and explain the goal. We’ll start there.

1

Send the CAD files

Share your STL, STEP, or OBJ file, along with dimensions, use, and anything the part must fit.

2

Get a clear quote

I’ll review the model, material, quantity, and print time, then email you a quote before anything goes on the printer.

3

Print, test, and adjust

We print the part, see what the real-world test teaches us, and iterate together until it’s right.

Accepted formats: STL, STEP, STP, and OBJ.
One important extra step: this page opens a draft in your own email app, but browsers cannot attach local files to that draft. After the email opens, attach the CAD files you selected here before you send it.

If the button does not open an email app, email Michael@threelittlespools.com directly and attach your CAD files.

The hobby bench

Robotics keeps me experimenting.

I spend a lot of my own time tinkering with robotics — making brackets, sensor mounts, little enclosures, and the odd part that only makes sense after you’ve tried the first version.

That hands-on habit feeds directly into the prototyping work. A measurement can look right on screen and still need a nudge once wires, fasteners, movement, and real-world tolerances get involved. I enjoy that part: test it, learn something, change the model, and print again.

  • Fit-test parts before committing to a finished batch.
  • Experiment with clearances, movement, and mounting points.
  • Turn a rough idea into something you can hold, use, and improve.
Family shop photos

Prints in real life.

Our favorite photos are not perfect white-background product shots. They’re the ones with kids bending the joints, small hands helping at the bench, and parts being used for the job they were made for. Every image below is a clearly labeled placeholder for a real Three Little Spools moment.

The family shop

Toy ideas, useful parts, and room to experiment.

Think of this as our sample bench, not live inventory. The names, prices, descriptions, and images are all clearly marked placeholders until our real Millington-made catalog is ready.
